5 Myths About Introverts
Sometimes when I tell someone that I’m an introvert, they don’t believe me. The first thing they say is, “You don’t seem shy!”. And they’re right! I’m not. There is a misconception that introverts are automatically shy. Introversion is simply a personality trait where an individual needs to energize and refresh their mind and spirit by taking time to be alone. Though introverts could be shy, introversion is not a synonym for shy.
Here are some additional myths that circulate about introverts:
- Introverts are hermits and don’t like to be around people.
- Introverts can be strange or nerdy.
- Introverts are more depressed and unhappy.
- Introverts are not good leaders.
